The Community Comes First
As time has passed, we have lost sight of how truly important it is to come together as a community. The natural tendency is to view ourselves as individuals first and as a collective community second, if at all. This mindset can threaten so many aspects of the community. We are trying to change the culture of community interaction in the twenty-first century. We want everyone to remember that they are members of a collective unit and that each individual can contribute in their own unique way. The Fish House is the perfect place to get back in touch with your sense of community.
Local Business Promotion
The economy works in mysterious ways these days. However, The Fish House is always behind local businesses and vendors to make sure that the local economy is thriving despite what is happening elsewhere. We want to make employees of local businesses feel right at home at The Fish House. Our support does not only come from the provision of coffee, food, and crafts from local businesses; we also want to maintain the most business-friendly environment possible so that local businesses can establish a second headquarters at The Fish House with everything they may need.
Mora may seem like a tiny little blip on the map to others, but we know that it is much more than that. Mora is filled with strong businesses that contribute so much to our environment, to our health, to our minds, and to the overall community. Local businesses give us so much, we are always trying to give back to them with undying support and a venue to spread their influence.
A Place to Come Together
We have done everything we can to make The Fish House the go-to gathering place for all members of the community. We want high school kids to stop by The Fish House after a long day at school to unwind. We want professionals to plug in their laptops, sip an espresso, and get to work on sending some emails at a premier independent coffee shop. We want the local interest groups to have a central location to meet and plan their newest fundraiser. We want parents to bring their children and satisfy the cravings of their children’s sweet tooth. Everyone who walks through our doors will feel right at home in the most communal and comfortable coffee shop in the Midwest such as Mora schools, Ogilvie schools, 4-H Kanabec County Shooting Sports, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts as well as many churches in the community.
At every stage of our development, a percentage of our proceeds will be given back to the community via donations and contributions to local organizations. We know that these donations have the power to jumpstart the success of community organizations and that every dollar counts. We are concerned with helping community organizations achieve stability and progress.
