The Fish House is Not Just a Coffee Shop
It is a community within a community!
Anyone can open a coffee shop. So many people set out to open one and fall into the same pattern of so many other well-known coffee shops. Serve coffee, make profit, and repeat.
In opening The Fish House, we wanted to guarantee that we are not only providing the finest coffee and foods for anyone who walks through our doors, but that we are giving a new meaning to “your local neighborhood coffee shop.” The Fish House is firmly rooted in the community that surrounds us. From the moment The Fish House was conceptualized, we wanted to ensure that we were doing everything in our power to nourish the people of Mora, Ogilvie, and any other area that makes us what we are.
Long ago, people traveled far and wide looking for a place of safety and comfort. When they came across the symbols of a fish and the cross, they knew that they would be safe in the place where the symbol laid. With our biblical roots in truth and fellowship, all Minnesotans should know they will feel welcome and comfortable at The Fish House.
Our founder, Jeremy Voss, has been dedicated to community for his entire life. Growing up in a small community where values of loyalty, honesty, hard work, and respect, Jeremy’s inspiration for The Fish House was always within his heart. According to Jeremy, “I’m driven – determined to succeed at making this community coffee shop a success in the local Mora and surrounding community.”
Aside from the cozy, “Up North” cabin feel that we have given our coffee shop, we want to ensure that local professionals can use The Fish House as another office. The Fish House wants to provide professionals with all of the business accommodations that they would possibly need to continue their work as well as a place to meet and continue business activities outside of their main office. We have a strong and reliable Wi-Fi connection for your laptops and smart devices to achieve maximum speeds. With a wireless printer linked to Wi-Fi, anyone can print from the comfort of their seat and pick up their documents at the printer. We also have common areas where you can hold business meetings in a much more comfortable setting. We want to help you close your next deal and slam dunk your next presentation. This is just one of many ways that The Fish House goes above and beyond the traditional definition of a coffee shop.
We view ourselves as a cohesive part of the community, not a separate business entity. Our core values involve interaction with the community as well as giving all community members a place to drink, eat, think, and organize. Partnerships with local farms, artisans, and other contributors give us the resources that we need to build this ideal gathering place. When you walk into The Fish House, we want you to feel the comfort of your own home or office.
